Finally, Big changes are coming to the way patents are awarded by the U.S. Government. For over 100 years patents have been awarded based on “first to invent”. The new changes will reward inventors who are “first to file”. The changes will benefit large corporations that have staff attorneys that are experienced in filing patent paperwork, and make it difficult for small firms to compete.
